we’ve just been in venice, paris, amsterdam, london - but each time i was so glad to come back to marcousin: happy medieval walls, kiwi and sharon fruits, trees imaginative colours, grilled chestnuts on fire, long walk with the dogs - and writing!!! like gods in perigord?

Muy bueno: spanish and catalan versions of OSCAR AND HOO (+FOREVER) launching this month. And few new stories in development. On the hosting side: great cartoon movie in Lyon and Content360 at MIP TV in Cannes - soon Cartoon Digital in Murcia and Animation Festival in Stuttgart. And our dream of Marcousin is getting there, with last few renovations and a lot of friends and family visits… And you, when are you coming?

sure it’s hard for all my good friends working in the mon(k)ey business and the few others relying on some house sale (as we do in London), but Super Sarkobrownmerkelbush is on the case and all will be good soon again! Hopefully. Cycles like in the (human) nature or overload? In Marcousin, it seems too far to be true… To much tomorrow for our now. If we could, Patsy and Tara, the owl from the forest, the nuts tree and I would help. In the meantime, we continue to walk in the clouds, dream in the fields and invent new stories for kids. We love to be so near to the far away…

A lot of time, Marcousin, Oléron, London, friends, dogs, motorbike, sun, love and new ideas! Merci la vie.

I completely enjoyed 2 hosting I did recently: a “family” talk with the program bosses of S-RTL, Nick and kika in Erfurt for the Goldener Spatz… some good ideas (like allowing adverts in kids films for the private channels who will invest in that genre and nick getting more involved with the goldener spatz) but still a lot to do for them to make the German media kids happier and more open!
And the International Animation Filmfest in Stuttgart: big audience and big stage, good films from good people, all young  beautiful mind… Creativity, culture, curiosity and kindness can’t be enough rewarded. This summer 08 will be moving!

bonjour, la joie est là où on la trouve. we all search for happiness but some might not want to find. i’m getting closer to the present and love it. vive la vie, maintenant, tout de suite. hier, après avoir babysitté our godchild with 101 dalmatians + 1 jack russell, nous avons vu THE LOVER AND THE COLLECTION de Harold Pinter au london comedy theater: yummy bravo. great texts and performances = how to integrate fiction, dreams and/or fantasies in reality? we cannot just accept this reality, can we? i want to be in the now but also to believe in some dreams… pas facile mais possible, i think - do you too? i also saw INTO THE WILD: superbe mais triste. il ne voulait pas accepter un présent sans futur. happiness is to share love. es lebe die liebe des lebens, vive l’amour de la vie, long live joy of life. where are you now? i’m looking for you and that moment. eureka, j’ai trouvé! merci…

Cycles: Hamburg is where I met my spouse. And this is where my mother-in-law slowly died. We staid there 7 weeks, living in a nice house underneath a forest and above the river Elbe, at a friend and her son. it was really good that we could stay so long on her side, with her husband and daughter. first time we met on a corner of the bed, sunday morning. “Hi”, she said, “I’m Anna, nice to meet you. You must be my kid’s friend, right?”. Last time she could talk, she said that her 2 kids and I should stick together: we will. And she called me “Rosenman”, the rose guy. sweet. she was curious, full of joy and so alive. I tried to express as much as possible of this life and love in her eulogy i was asked to do. Michelagelo said: “Ich bin nicht tod, ich wechsle nur die räume, ich lebe in euch, ich gehe durch eure träume.” PS: I found a great idea for an OSCAR AND HOO animated series and hope this will happen?!

I wanted to believe that life is nice… And I did all I could to make it nicer since my early childhood. But one of my best friend brutally disappeared and I doubt. The balance is broken. Instead of struggling for a better tomorrow, I want to see the good of here and now. I can’t postpone. This is what she gave me when she left. But I will continue to dream because the reality brutally exists. I have to live now. Oscar falls out of his dream. Goinfrette is lost for a while. Dr Booboo Zanimoo has no new idea for his friends and Zicke & Zacke are alone. But they’re all alive, believe me!

London is hard to leave and believe under the sun. Just back from a moderator job for CARTOON, now preparing some sailing in the Atlantic with dad. In May, I really enjoyed the hosting of the INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FILMFEST in Stuttgart: great contacts with passionate creators. So inspirational: it reminded me how I wrote OSCAR AND HOO for MICHAEL DUDOK DE WIT after seeing his film THE MONK AND THE FISH in Cartoon Forum Turku(Finland). Do I sometimes create or only react to these kind of visuals in particular? Or to life in general? Life is shocking, beautiful and mean. Only certainty: I’m not as good alone as working with someone else. So let it be, with you or anyone else, as I got still so much I want to tell…
